Michael Stephen Martinelli, 52, of New Britain passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at the Hospital of Central CT, New Britain. He was the beloved son of Stanley and Lorraine (Satthoff) Martinelli of Clearwater, FL. He graduated from Newington High School in 1979 and went on to attend Purdue University where he graduated with a degree in Communications. He was an accomplished drummer in his band "High Tide" and also had a passion for cooking, the NY Yankees and UCONN Men's Soccer. He is survived by his parents; his sisters Sandra Scott of Clearwater, FL and Michelle Martinelli of Newington; his aunt Marti Witt and her husband Frank of Rocky Hill and Gloria Careb of Waterbury; his nieces Jennifer Culhane and her husband John of East Stroudsburg, PA, Laura Scott and Kelly Scott both of Newington. In addition to his many cousins and their families, he leaves his dear friends Timothy Scott and Peter Philippon, and his best friend Frankie Shim.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, May 8, from 5-7 p.m. at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington with a service beginning at 7 p.m., the Rev. Lawrence Bock will officiate. Burial will be private.
