CARLSON, Muriel Regan
Muriel Regan Carlson passed away on August 18, 2013. She was born on February 29, 1924 at St. Mary's Hospital, Waterbury. Her given name was Merlin Grace Regan, but she went by the first name Muriel or "Mim". Her parents were the late Thomas Albert Regan and the late Mary Marie E (Vandenberg) Regan. She was predeceased by a sister Vivian (Regan) Pierce.
Muriel was predeceased by her husband Atty Burton Carlson. She is survived by her devoted sons and daughter-in-law, Barry Regan Carlson M.Ed., Atty Jeffrey Michael Carlson and his wife Patricia. She also leaves a loving niece and nephew, Cheryl (Kupa) VanCor and Pierce Bradford Lindsay; two grandnieces, Christine VanCor and Kimberly VanCor and her very good friend Kay Fortunato. Muriel grew up in the Endee Manor with Jackie her childhood best friend, her sister Viv and mother Mary. She attended the Clarence A. Bingham Elementary school and later graduated from Bristol High. She worked as a secretary at Bristol Brass and during World War II served as a volunteer in the War Bond's fundraising campaign. Upon marriage, she left the Brass to work as a secretary in her husband's new law practice, where they both remained until their retirement decades later. Muriel was also a parishioner at St. Maria Goretti's Roman Catholic Church in Wolcott. Many people who knew Mim said she was the nicest person they ever met. She had a beautiful smile, infectious laugh, great sense of humor and was loved by all. The love of her life, her husband Burt and she were inseparable. They worked together in his law office for over 40 years and spent all their free time together (except for lady's card night, which occasionally Dad sat in on). Although it's a time of sorrow we rejoice in the knowledge that Mim and Burt (Mom and Dad) are now reunited.
At Muriel's request all services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to
