Paul Peter Domin, 76, of West Suffield, died Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at his home with his family by his side. He was born August 17, 1937 in Hartford, son of the late Frank and Isabelle (Brazatis) Domin and had lived in the Granby and Suffield areas his entire life. He had served in the U.S. Army. Paul was a graduate of the Simsbury High School, Class of 1955 and had received his Masters Degree in Education from New Britain Teacher's College (now CCSU) in 1961. Mr. Domin was an Elementary School Teacher
in the Simsbury School System for 37 years prior to his retirement. Paul was a member of St. Bernard's Church and had enjoyed gardening, bowling and fishing. He also was an avid fan of the NY Giants, the Boston Red Sox and UCONN Basketball. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, at family get togethers and events, cookouts and holidays. He is survived by his son, David Domin and his significant other Ellen Orzech of Avon; his daughter, Stefanie (Domin) Rezende and her husband David of South Windsor; his former wife and close friend, Shirley Domin of Granby; four grandchildren, Robert, Matthew, Isabella and Zack; his brother, Ronald Domin and his wife Sharon of East Windsor; his special niece and nephews, Beth Gunther, Bryan Domian and Steven Domin and many close cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Domin. The family would like to thank his caregiver Rose and Masonicare Hospice for the wonderful and compassionate care given to Paul. Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury on Thursday, February 6th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral will be Friday, February 7th, 10:15 AM from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 AM at St. Bernard's Church in Tariffville.
