Phyllis H. (Hirschfeld) Augenfeld

AUGENFELD, Phyllis H. Phyllis (Hirschfeld) Augenfeld, 90, a resident of the Bradley Home, and a former resident of Aktins Street Ext., Meriden, died Thursday, (July 28, 2005) at MidState Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Alexander Augenfeld. Mrs. Augenfeld was born in Meriden, November 22, 1914, a daughter of the late William and May Hobson Hirschfeld and was a lifelong resident. She had been a secretary for the Meriden Board of Education at both Platt and Maloney High Schools until her retirement, and was a member and former deaconess of the First Congregational Church of Meriden. She is survived by her daughter, Jane Andren and her husband Clint of Alameda, CA; her son William R. Augenfeld of Middletown; two grandchildren, Kristen Augenfeld and Linnea Lowden; a great granddaughter, Annalina Lowden; a sister, Marion Gunther, and a nephew, Robert Gunther, both of Beverly, MA. Her family would like to express their gratitude to the staffs of Bradley Home and MidState Medical Center for their excellent care. A memorial service will be held Monday August 1, at 2 p.m. at the Bradley Home in Meriden. The Rev. John Clark, pastor of the First Congregational Church in Meriden will officiate. Interment will be private in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Meriden. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be sent to the Bradley Home, 320 Colony Street, Meriden, 06450. Arrangements are under the direction of The Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main Street, Yalesville Section of Wallingford.
