PATSKY, Raymond R.
Raymond R. Patsky, 70, of Cocoa Beach, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 24, 2013 at the Vitas Innovative Hospice in Merritt Island. Raymond was born September 23, 1942 in Hartford, CT to the late John and Jenny (Rumin) Patsky. He spent his childhood years growing up with his siblings and cousins enjoying and exploring the area in and around Windsor CT. He was married December 28, 1968 at St. Bridget Church in Manchester, CT to Marianne R. Skinner. Raymond was a graduate of Windsor High School, he received his AA from Hartford State Technical Institute, his BS in Mechanical Engineering with Honors from the University of Connecticut where he was a member of Phi Kappa Phi National Honors Society and Tau Beta Pi fraternity. He received his MS in Engineering from the University of Michigan. He began his carrier working on the technical staff for Bell Labs and stayed with the company for 30+ years retiring from Alcatel-Lucent in early 2000. He honored his country by serving in the National Guard-Army Division. The majority of his adult life was spent in NJ, Chicago and then settling in Florida. His hobbies included: photography, enjoying/protecting nature, running/biking/hiking, keeping up on world events and traveling (domestic and international). He was a man that was always there for you if you called on him in need, he had a very generous and charitable heart. He is survived by his son Raymond R. Patsky Jr. of Long Branch NJ and daughter Valerie J. Stillman and her husband John of Mill Valley, CA; his brothers, John J. Patsky and his wife Judith of Enfield, Charles J. Patsky of Ellington; his sisters, Irene E. Wilk and her husband Michael of Plainfield, Mary M. Wiggins and her husband Michael of South Windsor; two loving grandchildren; three loving nephews and three loving nieces. Raymond's family would like to express their sincerest thanks to friends and the staff at Vitas for their excellent care and compassion for their father during his time of need.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM Wednesday, July 10 at Saint Gertrude Church, 550 Matianuck Ave., Windsor followed by a burial in Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. A calling hour will be held at 9AM prior to the Mass in the Church. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Saint Gertrude Church, 550 Matianuck Ave., Windsor, CT 06095.
