GAUCHER, Robert Henry
Robert Henry Gaucher, 77, of Avon, beloved husband of 56 years to Patricia (DeNapoli) Gaucher passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends on Wednesday, (September 25, 2013). He will be dearly missed by his children; his sons Robert Gaucher and his wife Joanna of Simsbury, Kevin Gaucher of Avon, John Gaucher and his wife Jeanne of West Hartford; his daughters Trish Steschner and her husband JR of Murrells Inlet, SC, and Jennifer Brown and her husband Gregory of Cromwell. He also leaves his three grandchildren, who are his pride and joy: Madison, Grace, and Brandon; a sister, Pauline Ahearn of Avon, a sister-in-law, Marianne Fulco of Kentucky, a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Silvester of California and 11 loving nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by three brothers-in-law, Bill Ahearn, Frank Fulco and Jim Silvester. Bob proudly served two years in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Teamsters Union for 39 years. He enjoyed UCONN Women's Basketball, trips to Myrtle Beach, Fridays with his special friends "The Gang"; Jeanne Lombardo, Donald and Doris Brown, and Bill and Pauline Ahearn and loved giving attention and treats to the dogs; Rocky, Georgia, and Biscuit. He recently reunited with a long time friend Harold Bruscia and embraced a newly adopted daughter Daneen Huddart. Bob was a loving, kind and gentle man. He will always be remembered for his generosity, unconditional love, and his valuable life principles. He was a role model to many and his unique humor will never be forgotten. His greatest joy was spending time with family and close friends. He always stood ready to lend a helping hand, no matter the situation or need.
Funeral procession will be Saturday, (Sept. 28), 8:15 a.m. from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 9 a.m. in Holy Trinity Church, 53 Capitol Ave., Hartford. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. Calling hours are today from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
