GALLEGOS, Thomas A.

Thomas A. Gallegos, 84, of Wethersfield, died peacefully at home Saturday, (August 17, 2013) with his family by his side. Born in San Luis, CO, March 25, 1929, he was the son of the late Edwardo and Frances Gallegos. He proudly served his country in the Korean Conflict. He worked in construction and retired as custodian from the Hartford Board of Ed for which he worked for many years. He is predeceased by his loving wife Henrietta; stepdaughter Jean; sister Rebecca; and brother Eddie. He will be missed dearly by his four step-granddaughters whom he and Henrietta raised, Donna Kugler and husband Oren, of Wethersfield, Mary Jones of CA, Nancy Roche and husband Michael, of Granby, Diane Richard of Wethersfield; six great-grandchildren, Oren III, Tammie, Tanya, Kimberly, Tracy, and Nicole; seven great-great-grandchildren, Royce, Alana, Kavian, Michael, Madison, Negus Jr., and Khalel. He also leaves to mourn, his sisters, Betty Espinoza, Carmen Martinez and husband Phillip; a brother, Paul and his wife Dora; and many nieces and nephews, all of Colorado. Special thanks to all his friends, neighbors, and caregivers for their love and support.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield on Tuesday, August 20, 2013, from 5-8 p.m. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 21, at 11 a.m. in Calvary Cemetery, Collins Rd., Collinsville.
