Vartan Haig Adajian

ADAJIAN, Vartan Haig Vartan Haig Adajian, 92, of New Britain, passed away on Thursday, (January 17, 2008). Vartan was born in New Britain, the son of Joseph and Mary (Michaelian) Adajian. He married Eleanor Onorato in 1942, and they settled in New Britain to raise their family. Vartan worked for the Fafnir Bearing Company until his retirement in 1975. Vartan is survived by Eleanor, his wife of 65 years; daughter June Allen and her husband Daniel of LaJolla, CA; son Edward Adajian and his wife Cynthia of Canton; son James Adajian and his wife Ellen of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren Edward Allen, Heather (Allen) Perreault (and her husband Christopher), Mark Adajian, and Lisa Adajian; great-grandchild Violetta Perreault; brother Armen Adajian and his wife Katie of Lake Forest, IL; brother Michael Adajian and his wife Merrilyn of Canton; sister, Lillian Tanguay (and her late husband Edward Tanguay); many nephews, nieces, friends, and neighbors. Vartan had many interests and hobbies during his long and happy life. He was an accomplished photographer and knowledgeable collector of padlocks. He was an enthusiastic gardener and an avid reader. He and his wife were involved in folk and square dancing and enjoyed art exhibits, concerts, and lectures of all kinds. His philosophy was to look on the optimistic side of life and to have at least one good laugh every day. He was a good and generous person to all who knew him and well loved by his family and friends who will treasure the memory of him. No Services or calling hours are planned. New Britain Memorial-Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, New Britain is serving the family. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
