BATEMAN, William Bailey

William Bailey Bateman, 88, died Wednesday, (February 13, 2013) in Essex, CT after a long fight with Parkinson's disease. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Nancy, his children Pam Bateman, Bob Bateman, Carol Story, and Sunny (Tim) O'Brien, his brother John Bateman, his three grandchildren, John, Katie, and Andrew Bateman as well as many nieces and nephews. Bill lived a full life and was a great husband, father and friend. He took great pleasure in spending time with his family and traveled to all of the continents with his wife. He had an illustrious career in the banking industry working for many years for Chase Manhattan Bank and the Bank of Montreal. He served in the Navy during World War II and graduated from both Brown and Harvard Universities. A special thanks to all of the staff at Essex Meadows for their loving care and support.
There will be a private graveside interment ceremony with the rendering of full military honors at the Riverview Cemetery in Essex, Tuesday, Feb. 19th with a Celebration of Life reception following in Hamilton Hall at Essex Meadows, Essex, from 1:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the American Parkinson's Disease Association Connecticut Chapter, 27 Allendale Drive, North Haven, CT 06473.
