MOGELNICKI, Robert A.
Robert A. "Bob" Mogelnicki, 80, of Wethersfield, loving husband of Frances VasquenzaMogelnicki, passed away peacefully and with dignity on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Bob entered into the gates of Heaven surrounded by his loving family in his own home. Bob was born on May 16,1933 in Hartford, CT, son of Stella and Nicholas Capobianco. Bob was raised in Hartford and he graduated from Buckley High School in 1952. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was very proud to be a veteran. He settled in Wethersfield and became an active member of the community. He was a coach for his sons' little league baseball teams and was a Boy Scout leader. More recently he served as a Eucharist Minister at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Rocky Hill, CT. and Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Venice, FL. Bob was employed at Aetna for over 30 years. He also had a second career as "Mr. Bob" at Miss Frances School of Dance. He enjoyed playing golf, going to the theater, ballroom dancing, traveling, and attending his grandchildren's various sporting events; but his greatest joy came from spending time with his family. Besides Frances, his devoted wife of 52 years, Bob is survived by two sons, Joseph Mogelnicki and his wife, Camille ofWethersfield; Robert Mogelnicki and his wife, Robin of Orange County, California. Also left behind are his cherished grandchildren, Christina, Lauren, Katelyn, Grant and Hailee. Bob also leaves several nieces and nephews and a host of wonderful friends both in Connecticut and Florida. Bob will be deeply missed by his family and all that had the good fortune to be a part of his life. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Francis Hospital; Laura Holzhauer, his Hospice nurse from Masonicare; and Wendy Bachman for their gentle loving care during his illness.
Bob's wish was that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Tabor House (PO Box 340493, Hartford, CT 06134 or www.taborhousect.org) where he and Fran volunteered many hours of their time. Funeral services will be Saturday 9 a.m. from the Giuliano-Sagarino Funeral Home at BROOKLAWN , 511 Book St., Rocky Hill followed by a Mass of Christian burial in the St. of Elizabeth Seton Church, 280 Brook St., Rocky Hill, at 10 a.m. Interment will be private Cedar Hill Cemetery.
