DROHEIM, Arthur W. II Arthur W. Droheim II, 93, died peacefully at home Wednesday, (February 8, 2006). Born January 17th, 1913 in Terryville. He was the son of the late Arthur W. Droheim and Bertha (Boetzal) Droheim. He attended Hillyer College in Hartford and went on to start a wholesale meat delivery business then to Summitt Finishing Company in Thomaston serving as an Officer and Purchasing Agent until his final retirement. Arthur was an avid hunter, fisherman and boater. He was an officer and charter member of the Wally Byam Caravan Club also traveling the country with his wife Ann in their Airstream trailer. He was predeceased by his daughter, Judy DeRubertis. Art is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Ann (Schurman) Droheim; a son, Arthur William Droheim, III of Terryville; three grandchildren, Jamieson Droheim of Waterbury, Judith Verbickas of Terryville, Alison Pliska of Bristol; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Lillian Cowdrey of Wallingford; and a nephew, Bruce Cowdrey of West Hartford. A memorial service will be held Thursday February 16th at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 27 Judd Street, Bristol. Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or the Red Cross.
