MONK, Claude M. Claude M. Monk, 84, of Belair Heights, Leominster, MA, died Monday (August 8, 2005) in the Birchwood Care Center, Fitchburg, MA after a brief illness. He is survived by a son, Bruce C. Monk and his wife Margit Monk of Hudson, NH; two daughters, Martha A. Bice and her husband Fred Bice of Florida, and Penny E. Blankenship and her husband William Blankenship of Leominster, MA; two sisters, Mary Monk and Janet Baldwin both of Rockville; nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Monk was born in Bridgton, ME, on July 12, 1921, son of Guy M. and Blanche L. (Meserve) Monk and had most recently lived in Rockville for four years, before moving to Leominster, MA, this past March. He was a World War II U.S. Navy Veteran. Before retiring in 1983, he had worked in Quality Control for Bechtel Inc. in Houston, TX for several years. Claude was a 32 degree Mason and a member of Oriental Lodge of Masons in Bridgton, ME. Funeral services and burial in Bridgton, ME will be private. There are no calling hours. The Silas F. Richardson & Son, 106 West Street, Leominster, MA is assisting the family with arrangements.
