Chester Leckner Obituary

Mr. Chester Harvey Leckner, Jr., 73, of Parkway Circle, Villa Rica, GA, passed away on Saturday, (July 14, 2001) at Kennestone Hospital. He was born on September 11, 1927 in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Mr. Chester H. Leckner, Sr. and the late Mrs. Olive (Mote) Leckner. He was a United States Navy veteran and retired foreman from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft after 34 years of service. Mr. Leckner volunteered for Carroll County Chamber of Commerce and was a former volunteer for the R.S.V.P. (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) in Rockville. He was a member of the Villa Rica American Legion Post #70 and was a member of the Gesang and Declamation Club, (Maple Grove) in Rockville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Revens Leckner. He is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Nancy Harrison of Villa Rica, GA, and Caron and James Connelly of Haralson County, GA; a son and daughter-in-law, Chester H. "Chet" and Allyson Leckner, III of Saudia Arabia, formerly of Douglas County, GA; sister, Jean Stephenson of Milford, IL; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 17, 6 p.m., from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Villa Rica, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, Carroll County Chapter, 412 West White Street, Carrollton, GA 30117 or the American Diabetes Association, 1 Corporate Square, Suite 127, Atlanta, GA 30329, in the memory of Mr. Leckner. Messages of condolence to the family may be sent from www.jones-wynn.com. Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Villa Rica, GA, in charge of arrangements.
