Raoul Labbe Obituary

Raoul "Larry" L. Labbe, 69, of Newington, beloved husband of Margaret (Punkratz) Labbe, died Wednesday, (January 9, 2002) at his home. He was born in Wallagrass, ME, son of Emma (Goulet) Bolduc of New Haven and the late Raoul L. Labbe. He had lived in Newington for the last 17 years. Larry was retired from the U.S. Army after 21 years. He was a Veteran of The Korean Conflict and The Vietnam War. He was awarded a number of commendations while serving with the army. He was the recipient of a Bronze Star Medal, The Army Commendation Medal, The Army Occupation Medal (Germany), The National Defense Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, The Vietnam Service Medal with One Bronze Service Star, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device 1960 and The Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Bronze Star. He was a member of Hannon-Hatch, VFW Post #9929, West Hartford where he was the permittee for many years. Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by, three sons and daughters-in-law, Lawrence and Barbara Labbe of West Hartford, Rocky Lee and Vicki Labbe of Rutland, VT and Frederick and Lynn LaPointe of Wethersfield; three daughters and sons-in-law, Marry Jane and Timothy Ahern of Newington, Claudette Duval of Vernon and Susette and Karl Lado of Voluntown; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronald and Martha Labbe of Hartford, Philip Bolduc of New Haven, George and Alma Precourt of Manchester and John and Jacqueline Precourt of Plano, TX; 13 grandchildren; and one great grandchild. The funeral will be Friday, January 11, 9:15 a.m. from The Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpke., Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. in Holy Spirit Church, 183 Church St., Newington. Burial with Full Military Honors will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, TODAY, 4-7 p.m. Contributions in his memory may be made to CT Audubon Society, 118 Oak St. Hartford 06106.
