GAJEWSKI, Casimir J.
Casimir J. Gajewski, 87, of Rocky Hill, died peacefully on Saturday, (December 15, 2012). He was the beloved husband of Mary (Maliszewski) Gajewski for 63 years. Born and raised in Hartford, son of the late Benjamin and Jadwiga "Agnes" Gajewski, he resided in Rocky Hill since 1979 and was a member of Ss. Cyril & Methodius Church, Hartford. He was a U. S. Army Veteran of World War II and retired from Choice Vend, Windsor Locks, after many years of employment and also retired from Abacus of Rocky Hill after ten years of service. A loving and devoted father, he leaves his daughter Barbara Longo and her husband Michael of Wethersfield. He also leaves several nieces and nephews, including Godsons: Robert Slabinski, and Robert Maliszewski and his wife Jackie, also Charlotte Mason, Karen and James Kowaleski, Ted and Bonnie Maliszewski, Sally and Arthur Dutra, Donald Maliszewski, Stanley Malis, as well as eleven great grandnieces and nephews and twelve great, great grandnieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Julie Jennings and her husband Joseph. His brother Stanley and his wife Phyllis, and a niece, Julieann Jennings.
His funeral service will begin on Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Church, Hartford. He will be laid to rest with military honors in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Relatives and friends are invited to call on TODAY from 4-7 p.m. at Newington Memorial. Memorial donations may be made to Ss.
