Hobson, Frederic A.
Frederic A. Hobson, 71, of New Smyrna, FL and formerly of Vernon and Meriden, passed away on Wednesday, (October 24, 2012) at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington. Born and raised in Meriden, Frederic was the son of the late Leroy and Grace (Olney) Hobson. A veteran, Frederic proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for over 35 years. Frederic was a Volunteer Firefighter for the S. Meriden Fire Department and a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks in Connecticut and Florida. In his leisure time, he enjoyed golfing and fishing. Frederic is survived by his daughters, Kyleen J. Zaleski and her husband, Matthew of Newington, Kimberly A. McDonough and her husband, Brian of Vancouver, WA; his brother, David Hobson and his wife, Diane, his sister, Carol Hobson, all of ME; his mother-in-law, Asunta Bridge of Waterford; and his grandchildren, Riley, Henry and Eli. Frederic was predeceased by his wife Catherine (Bridge) Hobson.
Funeral services and burial for Frederic will be held at the convenience of the family. The Newington Memorial Funeral Home is assisting the family.
