Norman F. Schaffer

SCHAFFER, Norman F. Norman F. Schaffer, 85, of Manchester, husband of 52 years to the late Helen (Hury) Schaffer, died Sunday, (March 1, 2009) after an extended illness. Mr. Schaffer was born November 17, 1923, in Hartford son of the late Martin J. and Helen (Godfrey) Schaffer and had been a resident of Manchester for most of his life. Prior to retiring he was employed with the Internal Revenue Service for over 40 years. Mr. Schaffer attended St. James Church in Manchester. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Pauline Bruntmyer of Ashburn, VA; two nieces, Marie Garrett and Denise Fowler; and three nephews, Edward, Arthur and Gary Gregory. Private burial will be in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to ECHN, 71 Haynes Street, Manchester, CT.
