PANCIERA, Sophia "Sunny" (Bohenko) Sophia "Sunny" (Bohenko) Panciera 82, of Manchester, loving mother, devoted grandmother and great grandmother died peacefully in her home Thursday, (October 1, 2009). She was born October 12, 1926 in Rockville daughter of the late Sophia and John Bohenko and lived most of her life in Manchester. Sunny is survived by her son, Thomas Panciera; her daughter, Linda Rec whom lovingly cared for her in her home; five grandchildren, Rhonda (Panciera) Bartone and her husband, Anthony, Judythe Panciera, TJ Panciera and his girlfriend Christine Tanasi, Jonathan Rec and Christopher Rec, all who took part in her care for many years; four great grandchildren, Heather and Samantha Bartone and Kaitlin and Alison Panciera. She also leaves a sister, Julie McCann; numerous nieces and nephews; and her faithful canine companion, Jamie. Besides her parents Sunny was predeceased by her daughter-in-law Donna Panciera; her son-in-law, Lawrence Rec; four sisters; and two brothers. She was an avid Red Sox fan, a long time bowler for the Vernon First Ladies League and a lover of wildlife and nature. Her family would like to thank her wonderful caregivers, Marcia, Linnea, Sandra and U'ndrea and her nurse Janet. Sunny was a lifelong member of Center Congregational Church in Manchester. A Memorial Service will be held in celebration of her life, Thursday, October 8 at 11 a.m. at Center Congregational Church, 11 Center St., Manchester. Burial will be private in East Cemetery, Manchester. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center Congregational Church Memorial Fund, 11 Center St., Manchester, CT 06040. Watkins Funeral Home, Manchester has care of the arrangements. To all who knew Sunny she will be sadly missed.The consummate Mother,Grandmother and friend to many.Raising two children never denying anyone in need except maybe herself.Many years of Sunday dinners and family get togethers,vacations and just plain kitchen table talks will be missed.And not to be forgotten the wonderful Crepes she would cook for her son when he came home in the middle of the night.I dare say the mold was broken eighty two years ago.May God bless you.

We are so sorry to hear about Mrs. Panciera. I hae many memories when I was a kid and up until just a few weeeks ago. From running and hugging her to her sweet smile when comfy in her bed. She will be missed and on behalf of my family and my mom we all send our deepest condolences in such a sorrowful time. We love you all.
