Virginia Clayberger Obituary

CLAYBERGER, Virginia Lee (Cuddy) Virginia Lee (Cuddy) Clayberger, 81, beloved wife of Pierce Clayberger, died on Sunday, (June 7, 2009) at McLean. She was born October 13, 1927 in Bethany, MO, daughter of the late John and Eva (Claytor) Cuddy. Ginny and Pierce were married in Seattle almost 60 years ago and moved to Simsbury 50 years ago. She attended the University of Kansas. Ginny was a wonderful mother, wife and cook and was also a superb knitter. Her radiant smile will be sorely missed. Ginny was a member of the First Church of Christ, Simsbury, worked at the former Children's Services, the Simsbury Historical Society, the Ethel Walker School and was a former member of the Hop Meadow Country Club, Simsbury. She is survived by her loving husband; three daughters, Carol of Bethesda, MD, Nancy of Greenwich, and Pat of Harvard, MA and seven grandchildren. A memorial service will be celebrated Monday, June 15, 11 a.m. in the Carling Chapel at McLean, 75 Great Pond Road, Simsbury with the Reverend Jonathan Morgan officiating. Private burial will be at the convenience of the family in Simsbury Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to McLean, 75 Great Pond Road, Simsbury, CT 06070 or to the First Church of Christ, 689 Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury, CT 06070.
