Lillian Brainerd Obituary

Lillian E. (Hawxhurst) Brainerd, 90, of Newfield St., Middletown, wife of the late Howard H. Brainerd, died Sunday, (July 21, 2002) at Harbor Hill Care Center, Middletown. Born in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Margaret (Engelman) Hawxhurst, and had lived in Middletown most of her life. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Patricia) Damiano of Meriden; a sister, Henrietta A. Cote of Plainville; five grandchildren, Warren Geromin, William Chamberlain, Caroline Chamberlain-Satinsky, Sarah Chamberlain, Lorenzo Brainerd; and a great-grandson, Kyle Chamberlain. She was predeceased by three sons, Warren E. Brainerd, who died in World War II, Robert A. Brainerd, and Howard Brainerd, Jr.; two daughters, Marion Geromin and Margaret Brainerd; and two sisters, Maybelle Byrnes and Ruth Anderson. Memorial services will be held at the Church of The Holy Trinity, Middletown, Friday evening at 7 p.m. The Rev. Margaret H. Minnick, rector, will officiate and interment will be in East Randolph, VT at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Friends may visit the online guest book at www.doolittlefun- eralservice.com, and, in lieu of flowers, may make contributions in her memory to the Church of The Holy Trinity, 381 Main St., Middletown, 06457. Doolittle Funeral Service, 14 Old Church St., Middletown, is in charge of arrangements.
