MELLOR, Charles Stuart
Charles Stuart Mellor, 82, of North Granby, beloved husband of Mary Catherine (Mulqueen) Mellor, died peacefully on Friday, (May 3, 2013), at Hartford Hospital. He was born on August 11, 1930 in Bridgeport, son of the late Wendell and Dorothy (Wolff) Mellor. A resident of Granby for over 45 years, Charles worked for Hamilton Standard as a Mechanical Engineer, retiring after 25 years of service. Upon retiring Charles went on to consult for the Hartford Conservatory and PACE Consulting Group. He was an avid racing fan and was owner of a Midget race car. Charles also enjoyed hockey, baseball, football and was an avid Boston Celtics fan. A kind, caring and loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather he will be greatly missed. Along with his wife Mary, of over 58 years, he leaves a son, Douglas Mellor and his wife Laurie of N. Granby; three daughters, Elizabeth "Betty" Tillander and her husband Stephen of Enfield, Tricia Mellor of Torrington and Charlotte Skawski and her husband Zigmund of Suffield; a sister, Nancy Parker and her husband Kenneth of Lewisville, TX and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
His family will receive friends on Monday, May 6, 2013, from 10-11 a.m., at the Hayes Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook St., Granby; followed by a service in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Granby Cemetery.
