My best wishes to Sahira, Abdul and family on this anniversary of Abdul's passing. I was proud to work with him for many years at the Village for Families & Children in Hartford and to learn from him about child welfare and minority adoption. Abdul was so knowledgeable about minority adoption from both a social work practitioner and adoptive parent perspective. He also served for a number of years as the Village's first Diversity Manager long before the more current focus on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. I am sure after almost 6 years since his passing that his family, fellow Muslims, friends and professional colleagues still miss his presence and voice. Rest in peace, Abdul!

To Sahirah and the family of the late Abdul-Rahmaan Muhammad,it was with shock and sorrow that I just learned a few weeks ago of the passing of Abdul. For over twelve years I had the honor and pleasure of working with him when he served as trainer and curriculum developer for the training course, "Facilitating African American Adoptions" which was sponsored by the Association of Black Social Workers (ABSW) Child Adoption Counseling and Referral Services, a program of the New York City Chapter of the Association of Black Social Workers. Abdul conducted the training throughout the State of New York for social workers, supervisors and administrators from public and private foster care/adoption agencies. He also worked with the ABSW Adoption Service on other projects as well as serving as an officer with the National Association of Black Social Workers (NABSW.)

Abdul was a dynamic, brilliant, thought provoking lecturer and workshop presenter who was able to make people think and analyze their behaviors. He also had a sense of humor that made people laugh. He was a wonderful colleague and I will always cherish his memory.

Sincerely,

Leora Neal, Founder and former Executive Director

I extend my deepest sympathies to all of you. I have learned the greatest honor is when friends and family - speak, remember and share stories of how Abdul-Rahmaan has touched each of your lives. While I have never the man himself. I have met his son. If his son is an example of the man - then he has touched many peoples livies and given guidance in a caring and unconditional way.

Allah thank you for a great man.
