Joseph LaBruna Obituary

Joseph D. LaBruna, 67, formerly of Meriden, died Sunday, (April 7, 2002) at New Britain General Hospital. He was the former husband of Joyce (Carta) LaBruna. Born in Hartford, May 23, 1934, a son of the late Salvatore and Elda LaBruna. He had been employed by Pepsi Cola Bottling Company for many years until his retirement. He is survived by his daughter, Jill LaBruna of Meriden; son, Ricky LaBruna and his wife, Melinda of Enfield; his two granddaughters, Heather and Elizabeth LaBruna of Enfield; a sister, Rosemarie Cattanio and her husband, Maurice of Wethersfield; a brother, William LaBruna and his wife, April of East Hartford; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Joseph is also survived by his girlfriend, Mary Ellen and her family. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 11, 10:15 a.m. from the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Avenue, East Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m. at St. Christopher's Catholic Church, 538 Brewer Street, East Hartford. Burial will be in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, East Hartford. Calling hours will be Wednesday, April 10, 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home, family and friends are respectfully requested to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jocelyn Diabetes Center, New Britain General Hospital, 100 Grand St., New Britain, CT 06050.
