To my dear friends Scotti, Jack, Rikki, and the Marvin, Hawkes, Fairbanks, and Carpenter families and extended family, we are so saddened to have lost John. We share your grief but can only feel a portion of the pain you are all going through. We were so fortunate to have had John with us. I can't think of a single time that he was with us when we weren't laughing at one of his jokes or stories. He was funny, smart, and loyal to his friends and family. He served his country proudly and then dedicated his life to protecting and serving people back home in Connecticut. His legacy will be the honor that we all had in being able to call him our friend, brother, son, and trusted soul, and it will be in the smile and eyes of little Jack, and in Scotti's love for John. Our prayers are for your peace and comfort in this time of such sadness. We are so lucky to have known someone that whenever his name will be mentioned will cause everyone to smile. That is a rare and special man.

May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
