William Leone

1939 - 2015

William "Bill" Leone, 76 of The Villages, Florida, passed into eternal life on Nov. 21, 2015. He was surrounded by family, friends, his doctor and staff. Originally from Manchester, he lived in Fla. for the last seven years. He was predeceased by his first wife, Paula (Paradis) Leone, and his parents, William J. Leone and Fiori (Morconi) Leone. He is survived by his wife, Mary (Packard) Leone and his children and families: Linda (Leone) Bride, husband Tom, Nadine (Leone) Zaino, husband Scott, and Jacqueline Leone, and his sister, Gloria-Jean (Leone) Kissmann, husband Rudy. He leaves 5 grandchildren, Derek Bride, wife Erin, Dustin Bride, Brittany, Danielle, Samantha Zaino; one great grandson, Keagan William Bride; and many nieces and nephews. Bill was born in Manchester CT, July 28, 1939. He attended Manchester schools and had his own band, Bill's Band, in high school, playing saxophone. Then he went to Bryant College. He owned a restaurant-Bill's Lunch, on Main Street, Manchester. He had many sales jobs and was Regional Vice President of Dubois Chemical. Bill made it a priority to provide a stable and loving home. Bill was a long time member of Manchester Country Club and he loved golf. He won tournaments and continued golf in Fla. While in Fla. he got his first Hole-in-one and carded rounds in the 70's! Bill taught religious education at St. Bridget. In Fla. he was a Eucharist Minister to the sick. He was a man of deep faith, proud of his Italian heritage. His family will continue Bill's legacy by demonstrating his deep faith and positive love for life. He simply was a great man. He will be dearly missed, but take comfort in knowing how many lives he touched. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 2 at 11:00 am at St. Bridget Church, 80 Main St, Manchester. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery.
