Victor Morrone Obituary

Victor P. Morrone, Sr., Poppy, Uncle Vic, 79, North Branford. Vic's wife Bertha Morrone predeceased him. He leaves his daughter, Donna C. Fornal; son Victor P. Morrone, Jr.; granddaughter, Amanda D. Fornal; grandsons, Justin J. Fornal and Patrick and Nathaniel (Nate) Morrone; son-in-law, John J. Fornal, and daughter-in law, Ellen C. Morrone. In addition he leaves behind his brothers, George Morrone, Edward Morrone; sister Nancy Coer; and was predeceased by his brother, Peter Morrone, his sister, Mary Buonome, and parents Christopher and Concetta Ranfone Morrone. Vic was an Army Air Corp veteran of World War II, where he was a B-l7 tail gunner and the recipient of two Purple Hearts and an Air Metal. After his marriage to Bertha, he became an Arco-Shell business owner for almost 40 years. Vic then moved onto work for the Protective Services in Newington where he stayed for over 20 years. Through his years in Connecticut, he was also a Constable, a member of the VFW as well as a past commander, a volunteer fireman, and loved to spend time with his family and friends. Vic leaves behind many family members, nieces, nephews, godchildren and many great friends. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Drive, Wallingford, CT 06492 in memory of Victor P. Morrone, Sr. His Funeral Procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., Monday at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Augustine Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be TODAY 4-7 p.m.

Coming to work will never be the same without "Uncle Vic" being there at his desk. He was truly a wonderful person and we will miss him enormously at the Union, on so many levels. My heart goes out to V.P. and Donna as well as the rest of the family. He was a true gentleman.
