AUSTIN, Roger H.
Roger H. Austin, 84, of Marlborough, beloved husband of Marilyn (Badger) Austin died Friday, (January 11, 2013) at Middlesex Hospital. Born Jan. 21, 1928 in Hartford, VT, he was the son of the late Clyde and Mary (Paye) Austin. Roger was a resident of Marlborough since 1965. He proudly served his country in the Air Force during both World War II and the Korean War. He was employed as a machinist at Purdy Corp. in Manchester until his retirement. Roger also delivered newspapers for the Hartford Courant for many years. He was a member of the American Legion in Marlborough and the VFW. Besides his wife he is survived by his son Michael Austin of Colchester and his fiancée Carry Cote, his daughter Cheryl Austin of Cobalt and her boyfriend Angelo Simoni, a brother Donald Austin of Vermont, a sister Jean Longley of Vermont, three grandchildren and his cat Tony. He was predeceased by his son Reginald Austin-Tiedeman and a brother Leo Austin.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Spencer Funeral Home, 112 Main St., East Hampton on Wednesday Jan. 16 from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be in the spring in the family plot in Vermont. To leave online condolences please visit www.spencerfuneralhomeinc.com.
