WASKIEWICZ, Alexander J.
Alexander J. Waskiewicz, 75, of New Britain, beloved husband of Margaret (Bissoni) Waskiewicz, is more alive than ever since he marched on to meet his Maker on Wednesday (January 25, 2012) at the Hospital of Central Connecticut where he was prayerfully surrounded by his adoring family. He was the son of the late John and Alice (Dobensky) Waskiewicz, born on February 28, 1936 in New Britain. He attended New Britain High School and retired as a quality control manager from Caval Tools, Newington. After retirement, he was a craftsman building items in his workshop for his woodworking business. He enjoyed playing golf and poker with his friends and was an enthusiastic Yankees and Giants fan. He spent a great many days gardening and delighting in the outdoors. For many years he facilitated a small group Bible Study in Middletown. Al and Marge were high school sweethearts and danced in each other's arms often throughout their 55 years together. He leaves behind his five children, Laura Sapko of Palmdale, CA, and husband James, Jeffery Alan Waskiewicz of Haddam and wife Gail, Randall Waskiewicz of New Britain, and former wife Deborah, Susan Berreth of Friendswood, TX and husband James, Kimberly Mitchell of Durham, ME and husband Fredrick. He was the beloved grandfather of 16 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister Marianne Waskiewicz Hackney, and two brothers, Richard Waskiewicz and John Waskiewicz.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Alex, on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 11 a.m., at Fellowship Church, 1002 Saybrook Rd, Middletown, CT 06457. There are no calling hours. A small reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Fellowship Church in the name of Alex Waskiewicz toward a variety of ministries/charities that he supported. The Paul A.
