Katherine Duley Obituary
Katherine "Janet" Duley, 82, of East Hartford, widow of Warren Robert Duley, passed away peacefully last Saturday, January 21st, 2017 at her home in East Hartford, Connecticut. Born August 30th, 1934 in Manhattan, she was the daughter of the late Michael J. and Katherine (Hannon) Ward. Janet began her professional career in New York while attending Fordham University. Janet held Human Resources positions at Miles Shoes and I. Miller & Sons, New York, and married entertainer Bob Warren in 1963. Janet moved her family to Vernon, Connecticut in 1973, and launched advertising concern Miracle Mats in 1981, which remains as the longest running family-owned advertising business in Connecticut. Janet is survived by her two sons: Robert W. Duley of Westbrook and Stanley M. Duley of East Hartford; Three grandchildren, Shannon E. Duley of Atlanta, GA, Michael N. Duley of Dallas, TX and Cameron R. Duley of Colorado Springs, CO; four sisters, Peggy Rak of Mt. Vernon, WA, Claire McCarthy of Jackson, NJ, Monica Alcalde of Chandler, AZ and Maureen Brennan of Unionville. Janet was predeceased by her brother, Michael J. Ward III. Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt. 4, Unionville on Friday (Jan. 27th) from 5:00-8:00pm and again on Saturday (Jan. 28th) from 8:30-9:30am. Funeral procession from The Ahern Funeral Home will be at 9:30am followed by the Funeral Liturgy in the Church of St. Mary Star of the Sea, Unionville, CT at 10:00am. Bob, Stan and family,
I've now have know Janet over 33yrs, she was such an amazing woman, she was classy, smart, funny and very hard working.
I can only say she lived life to the fullest, no grass grew under her feet! Ever!
She was very proud of her family and loved you all, losing a mother is very hard. I know in my heart Janet is soaring high above now, free of any pain.
I want you all to know, you are in my thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time.
