KILEY, Robert F., M.D.
Robert F. Kiley, M.D., husband of 57 years to Sheila Brady Kiley, died on June 8, 2013. He was born Sept. 17, 1927 in Danbury. After attending local schools, he earned a BA Magna Cum Laude from Holy Cross College and subsequently, earning an M.D. Cum Laude from Yale University School of Medicine in 1953. After serving an internship at Yale New Haven Hospital, Dr. Kiley served in the U.S. Air Force as a flight surgeon in North Africa. He completed a residency in radiology at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center (NY). He joined the Hartford Radiology Group, which later became Jefferson X-Ray Group, and served on the staff of Hartford Hospital for 32 years. Dr. Kiley was elected to fellowship in the American College of Radiology in 1976. Upon retiring, Bob and Sheila moved from West Hartford, to the Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedra, FL, where together they enjoyed travel and club activities, especially golf. He was predeceased by his daughter Sheila K. Petrini; and is survived by his wife, Sheila; his four daughters: Christine Costello (John) of Greenwich; Suzanne Kiley of Los Angeles, CA; Michelle Kiley (Andrew) of Palatka, FL; and Patricia Woolley (Michael) of Los Angeles, CA; as well as his grandchildren Kate and Jack Costello and Christina Petrini.
At Dr. Kiley's request, there will be no calling hours and interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dr. Kiley's name to Community Hospice of NE Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32257. Please visit our online Tribute at www.quinn-shalz.com. I was a radiology resident under Dr. Kiley at Hartford Hospital in the mid sixties. He was a wonderful example for all of us professionally and personally.

I remember Dr. Kiley as being one of the kindest, most respected and well liked Radiologists at Hartford Hospital. He was a true gentleman. My condolences to the family.
