CALNEN, Ada L.
Ada Lorraine Calnen, 92 of Enfield, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Thursday, (October 24, 2013) at Parkway Pavilion. Born May 19, 1921 in New Bedford, MA, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Geneva (Fradapietro) Borden. Ada was a long time resident of Enfield and was a communicant of Holy Family Church. Ada loved to travel, both nationally and abroad as an Air Force wife. In her free time, Ada received great joy from time spent in her garden and being friendly with her neighbors. She had a great affection for pets and was the loving parent of many dogs. Ada will be greatly missed by her four sons, Dr. Terry Calnen of Latrobe, PA, Dr. Jerry Calnen and his wife, JoAnn of Enfield, CT, Timothy Calnen and his wife, Martha of East Berlin, CT, and Peter Calnen and his wife, Elizabeth of Simsbury, CT; her grandchildren, Cindy Terillo and her husband, Christopher of NJ, David Labelle and his wife, Allison of Broad Brook and Andy Labelle and his wife, Kelsy of Moodus, CT; and her four great-grandchildren, Mia and Ryan Terillo and Loghan and Lukas Labelle Besides her parents and her husband of over 50 years, Timothy Calnen, Ada was preceded in death by her sister, Bernice Thistlewaite.
A memorial gathering for Ada will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Leete-Stevens Funeral Home, 61 South Rd., from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. prior to a procession to Holy Family Church, 23 Simon Rd., for Ada's Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 12:30 p.m. Burial will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances in Ada's name may be made to Alzheimer's Assoc. - CT Chapter, 2075 Silas Deane Hwy., Suite 100, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
