CARDOZE, Adolph
Adolph Cardoze, beloved husband of Lygia Cardoze, passed away peacefully in his Middletown home February 14, at the age of 86. Born on Dec. 15, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY, he is the son of the late Prospero Cardoze and Juana (Betancourt) Cardoze. He was predeceased by his brother John, and sisters, Rose and Victoria. Besides for his wife, he is survived by his daughter Sharon (Cardoze) McDermott and her husband Michael of Cromwell; his son, Michael Cardoze and his wife Lori of Middletown; and three stepsons, Robert Gonzalez and his wife Michel, Ronald Gonzalez and his wife Celia, and Richard Gonzalez; he had eight grandchildren, Melissa and Kyle McDermott, Jared and Lorissa Cardoze, and Ben, Adam, Laura, and Derrick Gonzalez; he is also survived by five great-grandchildren; and several loving nieces, nephews, and relatives. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in World War II. He worked at Pratt and Whitney in Southington for many years as a machinist. He was a beloved family man, grandfather and great grandfather who will be dearly missed by those who knew him. His family mattered most to him in life. And he was a die-hard NY Yankees fan and NY Giants fan. Always the life of the party and a great comedian. He will be forever missed and eternally loved.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 10 a.m. in the Coughlin Lastrina Funeral Home, 491 High St. Middletown. Burial will be in St. Sebastian Cemetery Middlefield at a later date. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, Feb. 19, from 5- 7 p.m.
