Alfred Pittman Obituary
Alfred Lee Pittman, 85, of South Windsor peacefully passed away after a long illness on January 4, 2014. Alfred was born in Hartford on February 1, 1928 to the Late Leroy Pittman and Beloved Mother Mary (Harris) Pittman. He was educated in the Hartford Public School system, graduating from Weaver High School in 1946. After his high school graduation, Alfred joined various branches of the U.S. Armed Forces which included the: Marines, Army, and Connecticut National Guard. He continued his government service by working for over 30 years for the U.S. Postal Service until his retirement. Alfred Pittman was a very active member in the VFW, American Legion, Elks and Masons/Shriners. He leaves 3 daughter through his marriage to Mildred Anita (Stevenson) Davis; Lynda Pittman Cotton of FL; Leigh Ann Reynolds and Mildred Marie Pittman of GA; 3 sisters, Gail, Shirley and Joan Pittman of Bloomfield, 4 brothers Leroy, Calvin, Leonard Pittman of Hartford, Marshall Pittman of Maryland, and 4 grandchildren, Thomas Reynolds Jr, Michael Fearon II, Blair Jordan and Nandi Cotton all of GA; 2 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as many life-long friends. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Faith Congregational Church 2030 Main Street, Hartford Conn beginning with 11:00. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Faith Congregational Church on his behalf. Please visit www.henrylfuquafuneralservice.com.
