Alice Fischer Obituary
Alice Fischer of West Hartford and most recently of Hartford, died December 12, 2013. She was predeceased by her beloved twin brother George J. Fischer and his wife Nadia and her beloved sister Lillian A. Henson and her husband Richard. Alice is survived by her nephews Richard Henson Jr. of East Hartford, Keith Henson and his wife Rita of Glastonbury, Jeffrey Henson and his wife Jennifer of Somers, her niece Gail Rosati and her husband James of Manchester. She leaves nephews Thomas Fischer of Madison, Kenneth Fischer and wife Lynn of East Granby, Robert Fischer of San Francisco, CA. and her niece Laurie Fischer Davis of Alameda, CA. She also leaves several great nieces and nephews. Alice's family would like to thank the staff at Avery Heights for their loving care especially her nurse Mary Ellen Roberts. Funeral service and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Rose Hill Funeral Home has care of arrangements.

My sincerest condolences to Alice's family on her passing in 2013. I had tried to call her a few times and her phone had been disconnected, so I was concerned but had no other contact information. I had spoken with Alice on the phone a few times about my late mother, Orissa, with whom she worked at the Aetna in Hartford decades ago. I just came across a photo of Alice and my mother in Los Angeles, circa 1949 or 1950. During our conversation a few years ago, Alice told me a few stories about their friendship and about moving out to Los Angeles together with their mutual friend Ann. I will always remember Alice's kindness in sending me a letter with memories of her times with my mom, who I lost in 2008. It was a true comfort. My deepest sympathies to everyone who loved Alice. Her friends and neighbors at the condo complex on Shadow Lane where she lived until moving to Avery Heights will truly miss Alice. She was a delightful presence with a warm smile. Alice always provided helpful feedback and suggestions for our condo association's newsletter. We will truly miss her!
