Alma Jackson Caffee

Alma Jackson Caffee, 90, of Lake Worth, Fl and formerly of Bloomfield passed away Saturday, (December 21, 2013) in West Palm Beach, FL surrounded by her loving family. Born March 25, 1923 in Hartford, daughter of the late Bessie Smith, she had lived in Bloomfield for 47 years before moving to Florida three years ago. Alma attended Freemen's Hospital School of Nursing, Howard University, in Washington D.C. and had worked at Mt. Sinai Hospital, Hamilton Standard and Kaman Corp. She taught CNA classes at Goodwin Technical College. Alma was co-founder of Chi Eta Phi Nursing Sorority and former member of the Board of Directors of the Women's League Child Development Center, Hartford and a member of the Bloomfield United Methodist Church, Bloomfield. Alma was survived by three children, Arthur Caffee and his wife, Janet of Rotonda West, FL, Robyn Hansen and her husband, Terrell with whom Alma lived with in Lake Worth, FL, Susann Abrams and her husband, Kelvin of Andover; a sister-in-law, Shirley Pindle of NJ; four grandchildren, Talor Hanson and his wife, Sasha, Derek and Trevan Hanson and Kaycee Caffee; seven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a grandson, Karl Abrams. Her family will receive friends Friday, December 27, 2013 from 10-11 AM at Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor followed by funeral services at 11AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Bloomfield.
