Miss Rosetta was beloved by a generation of West Hartford children. My four brothers and I all have very fond memories of her. Every child should be so blessed as to be nurtured and encouraged by such a kind-hearted teacher. I remember how patient she was, helping a classroom of kids put their snow boots on before recess in the winter, and then, a short time later, helping them back into their shoes for the remainder of the school day. She was loved; she is missed; she made a difference in my life and the lives of so many others.

I cannot believe it is 2017 and you've been gone since 2014. My family was so privileged to have you as a teacher at Charter Oak. I still remember you're telling me you had my mom as one of your students, then I became one of your students and so did my brother. Years had passed and periodically we would bump into each other at CVS or Walgreens in West Hartford. Then out of the blue we bumped into each other at the eye doctor in Farmington of all places. From that point forward my family, my husband and daughter, we all became friends. I so miss coming over to visit you and your sister Fran at the condo in West Hartford. Though I am older now, you still were able to teach me something along our path until your passing. I so miss you to this day. I hope you are happy where you are now. I think about you all the time. I remember the violet I gave you and now I always have one in my window with thoughts of you. Happiness and love always. Terri.

I just read about Miss Rosetta's passing in the USJ Outlook Magazine and I'm so very sad. Miss Rosetta was my kindergarten teacher at Charter Oak. My two brothers (Rob and Dan) also had Miss Rosetta in kindergarten. Her classroom was so magical. I have vivid memories of tapping our fingers on the floor to make it sound like soft and hard rain. I remember the cubbies, the pond, the supply closet, the kitchen, and the doll area. Unfortunately they don't make classrooms like that anymore. Miss Rosetta was so pleased that I attended her beloved Saint Joseph College. I reconnected with Miss Rosetta after my mom died. She was such a comfort. Kindergarten teachers are like a mom away from home. It saddens me that I will not be able to see or talk with her again.

While I began school at Charter Oak in the first grade, my younger brothers and sister had Miss Rosetta as their Kindergarten teacher. They all loved her and she became their favorite mentor.

Dearest Ann,
we have traveled all together, far or close no difference at all, down the road of the gift of life until today.
The time I have been given to spend with you, Frany and Joe has
meant more to me than mere words could ever express.
Now it is time for you to rest in peace and for us to say good bye.
Look on us, with mom and dad, Ann Marie - our loving sister - Peter, Brenda and all our beloved ones who have preceded us in heaven.
Guide us and continue smiling on us.
Thanks for beeing a marvellous sister.
I'm sure these are also Fran thoughts.
With love for ever, Rosemary

Miss Rosetta was my kindergarten teacher at Charter Oak school. Like so many others she touched my life in such a way that I know it was her loving, kind, gentle ways that formed the person that I am today . So many wonderful memories come flooding back to me as I write this but one stands out among the others . My parents were divorced and Miss Rosetta kindly took me under her wing . She let me stay after school and help her with cleaning up the room or decorating for the holidays. Just that time spent with her one to one made me feel so loved and special at a time when I needed it the most. She will and has always had a special place in my heart.

Mrs. Rosetta worked with my father, Bob Carbonneau, at Charter Oak. He always talked about what a wonderful teacher she was. Deepest sympathy on her passing.

Throughout the years I have been asked who my favorite teacher was - my answer was always the same, Miss Rosetta. I am 52 yrs old and my favorite memory of your class and of you, was when you asked us all to bring in our favorite book for story time. After you read my book, you told me it was the best story of the week. You were the sweetest person and the nicest teacher...and a pillar in the community. Educated, beautiful and loving; you will always be remembered by so many. Rest in peace and God bless you and your family.

Peace to a legend, a wonderful kindergarten teacher who I will forever remember. At this time of year Miss Rosetta would be pulling off our snowboots, unzipping our snowsuits and in the fall we would make applesauce. Everyday we would listen to stories which you brought to life with your voice and hand motions. I still remember all your silver bangle bracelets and red nailpolish. Mostly I recall your hugs. Thank you.

Both my children were privileged to start their education journey in Ms. Rosetta's kindergarten classroom at Charter Oak School. There was no better way to be launched on a life long journey of learning. What she created in that classroom was magical for a young child who was open to all she brought to their young lives.
