SANTO, Antonio Gentil
Antonio Gentil Santo, also known as Gentil Santo, 76, passed away on September 9, 2013 in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal; buried on September 11, 2013 in Obidos, Portugal. Gentil resided in West Hartford when he came to the U.S. in 1969 and after retirement ten years ago moved to Obidos, Portugal with his immediate family. He is survived by his spouse, Palmira Santo and son, Gentil Santo; brother and sister in law, Gentil and Maria Oliveira; nephew and spouse, Beto and Maria Oliveira; niece and spouse, Ana and Joe Rodrigues; and great-nieces and nephews, Tanya Oliveira, Xavier Diaz, Kevin Oliveira, Marina and Juliana Rodrigues. Gentil was known for his dedication to his family and artistic auto body work where he worked for 25 years at Brunos Auto Body and later partnered with son and nephew at G.B. Family Auto Body. His favorite activities were spending time with his family at Groton Long Point, watching the halai games and watching his favorite Portuguese team "Sporting" playing soccer. Gentil was a man that enjoyed life as well as seeing his loved ones happy. His smile will be sorely missed by many and his memories will forever carry in or hearts.
A mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford on September 19, 2013 at 7 p.m. In lieu of gifts, the family requests that donations be made to Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford.
