Arlene Plucas Obituary
Arlene J Plucas, 75, of Rocky Hill, CT passed away on December 19, 2013 after a brief illness. She was born January 3, 1939 in New Britain, CT to the late Mary (Walicki) and Anthony Jakubowicz previously residing in Middletown, CT before settling in Rocky Hill, CT. Mrs. Plucas was employed by CCSU for 28 years in the Modern Languages Department before retiring. After retiring she was a secretary at Guilmartin, Dipiro & Sokolowski in Middletown, CT. She enjoyed her time with her family and friends and especially enjoyed her summer vacations to the beaches of Groton, CT. She is survived by her son, Brad Plucas and his wife of Wilkes-Barre, PA, her daughters Robin Glennon and husband of East Haddam, CT and Beth Reid & husband of Naples, FL. Her brother, Anthony Jakubowicz of Southington, CT and sister Barbara D'Aquila of Yorba Linda, CA. Many special nieces, nephews, grandchildren and a great-grandchild.She was predeceased by her grandson, Alec Reid. Memorial Services will be Sunday, December 29th, 2013 from 5-7pm at New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT. Robin,
I just found out about this, I had been in touch with your mom now and then, I just tried to call her a little after Christmas and found out that her phone had been turned off. For some reason I had a weird feeling about it so I looked on-line today and saw this. I am so sad, I loved your mom so much. I remember when you and the kids would come over swimming and your daughter created the basket to send things back and forth to our apartments. I am going to miss her voice so very much. I am hurting so much right now I have no idea what to say. I am so very sorry for the loss of your mom. I lost my dad last May so I know how that feels. God Bless. Please send my condolences to the rest of the family. I know she spent every weekend with her brother and my heart goes out to him too.
