HORTON, Arline (Rumley)
Arline (Rumley) Horton, 98, of Wethersfield and Indian Town, Old Saybrook, wife of the late Frank C. Horton, passed away peacefully, on Sunday (February 17, 2013) at her home. She was born January 24, 1915 in Hartford and was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Ahern) Rumley. She lived in Wethersfield for 58 years where she was a realtor and a longtime faithful communicant of the Church of the Incarnation. Arline and Frank were active members of the Telephone Pioneers and the American Legion. More than anything, Arline enjoyed playing bridge with her sister Ruth and friends for over 60 years. She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Paula Horton and Kenneth Slight of Moorestown, N.J. and Lisa and Christopher Skomorowski of Simsbury; three grandchildren, Lisa and Clara Slight and Kelsey Skomorowski; her loving caregiver, Joana Mills; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Esther Hickok and Ruth Brothers, and two brothers, Charles and Edward Rumley.
Family and friends may call at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd, Wethersfield on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February, 20 at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Everyone is invited to go directly to church. The burial will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
