PROCKNIEWICZ, Bennie
Bennie Prockniewicz, 95, of Glastonbury, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on October 31st. A veteran of World War II, he met and married his beloved wife Jennie in Drancy, France in 1945. Born on March 24, 1918 in Haverhill, MA to Marion and Caroline Prockniewicz, he went on to graduate from Haverhill High School and The Wentworth Institute, Boston, MA. For 38 years they made Rochester, N.H. their home where Bennie was employed as a manager in the Wage Rate Department of the General Electric Corp. They retired to Hobe Sound, Florida for 18 years before moving to Glastonbury to be closer to their daughter and her husband. During all these years Bennie and his family enjoyed wonderful times at the summer home he built on the shore of Great East Lake in Wakefield, N.H. In addition to his loving wife Jennie, he will be dearly missed by his daughter Linda and husband Wayne Merrick; grandchildren Dana and her husband Michael Flanagan and David Merrick.
Burial with military honors will be held at the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery on Friday, Nov. 8th in Middletown, CT. Time to be determined. To leave an online condolence, please visit www.glastonburyfuneral.com.
