BERTASH, Bernice
Bernice Bertash, 97, of West Hartford, passed away peacefully Friday (June 21, 2013) at Hughes Health & Rehabilitation Center in West Hartford. Daughter of the late Casper and Suzanna Bertash, Bernice was born in Sag Harbor, Long Island on May 22, 1916. She attended the American School for the Deaf in West Hartford and later worked for Sage Allen in Hartford. Bernice had a love of painting and flower gardening. She leaves a sister, Suzanne Kuchas of Windsor and several nieces and nephews. Bernice was predeceased by three sisters, Alice Green, Mary Bertash, and Justina (Jessie) Bertash and three brothers, Constantine (Connie), John, and Edward Bertash. Her family wishes to thank the staff of Hughes Health & Rehabilitation for their many years of gentle care for Bernice.
Her family will receive friends beginning at 9 a.m., Wednesday (June 26) at Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Avenue in Windsor, followed by a brief service at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
