SCHWARZ, Bernice (Sosin)
Bernice (Sosin) Schwarz, 83, of West Hartford, passed away on Friday, (August 2, 2013) at her home after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife, for 50 years, of the late Henry Isaac Schwarz. Born in Hartford on Nov. 6, 1929, she was the daughter of Saul and Frieda (Teitelman) Sosin. Bernice was a 1947 graduate of Hartford Public High. She was a supervisor at the Aetna and was later the Office Manager at the Camera Bar in Hartford for 35 years. She was a member of the Emanuel Synagogue in West Hartford and Jewish Women's International. She and Henry had been members of Temple Beth Hillel in South Windsor. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Trudy Kostin and her husband James of East Hampton, cherished grandson Michael T. Kostin of Southington, beloved sister Goldie Luftglas and her husband Roman of West Hartford, nieces Frieda Luftglas and Elaine Levison and her husband Arthur and many great-nieces and great-nephews along with many dear friends. She was predeceased by her niece, Sharon (Luftglas) Barshay.
The funeral will be Monday August 5, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Rabbi David Small officiating in the chapel of the Emanuel Synagogue, 160 Mohegan Dr., West Hartford. Interment will be at the Piaterer Verein Cemetery, 1361 Berlin Tnpke., Wethersfield (intersection with Jordan Lane extension). Following interment the family will receive friends for Shiva at the home of Roman and Goldie Luftglas, 5 Hosmer Drive, West Hartford concluding with an evening service at 7 p.m. The family will receive on Tuesday and Wednesday starting at 1 p.m. and again with a 7 p.m. service. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Emanuel Synagogue, the Masonicare Partners Hospice, East Hartford or to a charity of donor's choice. Dear Goldie, Roman and Family,
Our sincerest condolences to you all on Bernice's passing. We are so sorry for your loss.
Goldie, we know how close you were to each other, and we hope you come to understand that G-d has a plan, and we must accept that.
We pray that many happy memories will sustain you through this sad time, and that your many friends and close family will be supportive of each other at this sad time.

I want to send my sencere condolences to goldie and roman and the family on the passing of Bernice. I knew the family as I worked at suburban pharmacy. Bernice was a lovely woman and she will be missed.
