Bertha PITNEY Obituary



Bertha "Bea" H. (Bugden) Pitney, 87, of Enfield, CT entered into Eternal Rest on Monday, December 30, 2013, after a long illness. Bea was born July 17, 1926, the daughter of the late Henry and Catherine (Tompkins) Bugden. Bea retired from Hallmark Cards where she worked for several years. She was a snowbird and enjoyed spending six months of the year in Summerfield, FL. Bea played the piano and organ and enjoyed listening to music. In her spare time she could be found knitting, crocheting or golfing. She was a faithful communicant of Holy Family Church. She is survived by three children, Larry Lynch and his wife, Joan Sullivan of Somers, CT, James Lynch and his wife, Kate of Charlotte, VT and Donna Lynch and her husband, Lionel Boutin of Belleview, FL; a grandson, Jeremy Lynch and his wife, Amy of Enfield and three great-grandchildren; her siblings, Mary Dewey of Suffield, CT, Florence Stroiney of Feeding Hills, MA and Henry Bugden and his wife, Jean of Union, CT and several nieces and nephews. Bea was predeceased by two husbands, Lawrence Lynch and Thomas Pitney. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Thursday, January 2, 2014, from 9 am to 10:30 am at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield with a funeral procession gathering at 10:30 am for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 am at Holy Family Church. Burial will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery in Broad Brook. Memorial donations in memory of Bea may be made to Enfield Loaves and Fishes, Inc. Memorial Fund, P.O.
