WHITTLES, Bruce M.
Bruce Merwin Whittles, 80 of Glastonbury passed away peacefully on June. 26, 2013 at Hartford Hospital in Hospice Care, due to a long battle with illnesses and dementia. Born in Hartford, he was raised in a loving home at 2205 Main St. Glastonbury by his father Dr. Lee J. Whittles and Helen Hurlburt Whittles. After schooling in Glastonbury he attended Mt. Herman School in MA. and Wesleyan University in Middletown. He then succeeded in international sales working at Colts Firearms and Heublein International. Because of his fluency in Spanish he was chosen to go to Spain often. Later on in life he was successful with his own video production business in Washington State. He is survived by his twin brother, Doug Whittles of Tacoma. Wash. He will be remembered as a loving father and good friend to his children, Laura Whittles of Manchester, Pamela Whittles of Skaneateles, NY, and Glenn Whittles and his wife Stacie of So. Glastonbury. He leaves behind 6 grandchildren, Tiffany, Christina, Nicholas, Emily, Megan and Carter. Also 3 great-grandchildren, Antwane, Lyla and Macy.
A memorial service will be held on Monday. July. 1, 2013 at 11:00am in the Mulryan Funeral Home 725 Hebron Ave. Glastonbury. lieu of flowers donations can be made to www.brightfocus.org for Alzheimer's Disease Research. For online condolences please visit www.mulryanfh.com.
