Burr K. WOODSTOCK Obituary


Burr K. Woodstock, 90, of Ellington, husband of the late Gloria (Papineau) Woodstock, passed away peacefully on Sunday, (January 6, 2013) at Rockville General Hospital. Born in Bridgeport, the son of the late Kenneth and Grace (McDonald) Woodstock, he lived in Windsor Locks and Windsor before moving to Ellington over 12 years ago. Prior to his retirement in 1993, Burr was employed by the former Arrow Hart & Hegeman, Inc. in Hartford for many years. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and a Pearl Harbor survivor. He is survived by his children, JoAnne Goralski and her husband Alexander of Windsor, Chester Woodstock of Enfield, Diane Hackett and her husband Neal of Bristol, Grace Tracey and her husband Lawrence of East Windsor, and Betty Lukens (owner of Fancy Feet pet grooming) and her husband Brian Zimmermann of Ellington, with whom Burr made his home; 13 grandchildren, Alex, Sandra, Kristin, John, Amy, Burr, Tonya, Nicole, Danny, Lisa, Dory, Chester Jr. and Justin; 15 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his best friend and companion, his cat, Jessie. He was also predeceased by two sisters, Betty and Laura.
His family will receive friends for calling hours on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, from 4-6 p.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon, followed by a funeral service beginning at 6 p.m. and concluding with military honors.
