STANFORD, Chelsey
Chelsey Stanford, 24, of Orlando, FL, died unexpectedly on April 24, 2013 in Sarasota, FL. Chelsey was born Aug. 4, 1988, in Hartford. She graduated from high school in 2005 and received her Associate Degree from the State College of Florida in 2010. She attended USF and was ready to graduate May 4 with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Chelsey was the President of the USF Psychology Club. She was a Research Assistant for the past year and planned on another year of research before continuing on to a master's program. Chelsey leaves many people who were proud of her and loved her; her mother, Michela (Marino) Tao and her stepdad David of Orlando, FL, her father, Timothy Stanford and his wife Carmen and her half-sister Emma Stanford, all of Florida; her grandparents, Jane Stanford in Florida, Edward Stanford of Meriden; aunts and uncles, Cathy and Bill LeBlanc of East Hampton, Bud and Elaine Marino of Vernon, Bruce and Rosemary Marino of Granby, Theodore and Karen Stanford of Farmington, Lois and Joseph Troiano in Florida, Susan and Emil Fournier of East Hartford, Judith and Christian Hiddeman of Dortmund, Germany, Mary and Bill Pitkin of Charlotte, NC; cousins Mitchell, Alison, Jennifer, Dominic, Adriana, Jesse, Lindsay, Dean, Carli, Sheena, Clayton, Christina, Derrick, Caitlin and Ryan. She was predeceased by her brother Luke; and her grandparents Milton and Claire Marino. Chelsey loved music and played both the piano and guitar. She has performed with her friend Ally in local Sarasota cafes. She was a regular at the local Starbucks in Sarasota and had many friends from school who will miss her very much. Our special thanks to Chelsey's friend Yvonne Pinder for being a wonderful friend and confidant. She loved spending the weekends on the beaches of Lido and Longboat Key. We shared vacations and loved our leisurely lunches and shopping in St. Armand's Circle. We were regulars at her favorite Orlando restaurant, Season's 52. We had many great times together and we will never forget her beautiful smile. I will miss your natural and carefree way, Chelsey. Our great talks and how interested you were in current events and politics. I will miss how you became my protector after we lost Luke. You were MY confidant and friend as well as my special daughter. I miss you so much Chelsey. We had so many plans.
Her funeral service will be held on Monday, at 9 a.m. from the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 626 Willard Ave., Newington. Chelsey changed my life. I just found out about her death a few days ago, and it breaks my heart. She was one of the most intelligent, talented, and unique people i've ever had the pleasure of meeting. I cant believe shes gone.. I'm so sorry for her familys loss, but i'm more sorry for those who were never lucky enough to have as little as a conversation with her. She will be missed terribly, always.
