SCARLETT, Clinton A.
Clinton A. Scarlett of Garfield St, Hartford, CT went home peacefully to be with the Lord on August 6, 2013 after a long illness. He was born in Kingston, Jamaica. He is survived by his devoted and beloved wife Shirley (Dennis) A. Scarlett, who never left his side and was there to the very end; one sister Rosie Scarlett (NY); two brothers, Junior Scarlett (JA) and Michael Scarlett (MA); six children Jennifer (Ron) of Windsor, Michael (JA), Kirk (Hartford); Orlene of Bloomfield, Bobby (Katie) NY and Angela; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, numerous family members, a loving church family and a host of friends to mourn his loss, but to celebrate his life. Special caretakers were Moveta Plummer and Lennox Wilkins. Clinton Scarlett was a police Sergeant in Jamaica for over 22 years. It was therefore fitting that he became a long standing member of the X-Police association of Hartford. Clinton also served as president of the Caribbean Social Club. Brother Scarlett had a passion for wood work and he was matchless in the art of cabinet making. He worked at Peerless Woodworking Corporation until his retirement. He migrated to the United States in 1976 and eventually joined the fellowship of North United Methodist Church. North church became his church home where he served as lay leader, member of SPPRC, church council, youth advisor and finance committee.
Funeral Service will be Friday, August 16, 10:30 a.m., calling hour 9:30 a.m. North United Methodist, 1205 Albany Avenue, Hartford, CT. Burial in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery. ALL FAITH MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 90 John Fitch Blvd. has charge of arrangements.

To sis. Shirley Scarlett and family,
Our condolences to you on the passing of such a beloved husband, father, grand & great grand father and friend. No one knows the hour in which we will be called home to glory, but I believe that Bro. Clinton was ready, willing and able to leave us knowing that he had a place already prepared for him in heaven. Be of good cheer and know that the Lord sends you a comforter to sustain you in times like these. You are all in our prayers and may bro. Scarlett's soul rest in peace. From the Weirs, Simons & Alleyne's families.

Brother Scarlett is truly missed and will always be remembered for his many contributions. To the family: Although no words can really help to ease the loss you bear, just know that you are very close in everyone's thoughts and prayers. Our hearts are with you in this time of sorrow.
