GENNARO, Concetta
Concetta Gennaro, 91, of Bidwell Terrace, Middletown, wife of the late Anthony Gennaro, died on Saturday at the Middlesex Hospital surrounded by her family. Born on Feb. 16, 1922 in Melilli, Italy; daughter of the late Carmelo and Salvatrice ( Lastrina ) Aresco. Concetta had been a resident of Middletown most of her life. A member of St. Sebastian Church. Concetta is survived by her loving family: two sons, Carmelo Gennaro and Dante Gennaro, both of Middletown; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Anthony and Mary Aresco, Joseph Rose Aresco, Louis and Nella Aresco, all of Middletown; A sister and brother-in-law, Bianca and James Genovese of Middletown; a sister-in-law Lucia Aresco of Middletown; six grandchildren, Anthony Gennaro, Andrea Gennaro, Dante Gennaro, Jr. , Marissa Gennaro, Joseph Gennaro, Brian Gennaro; four great-grandchildren, Michael Gennaro, Addyson Gennaro, Anthony Gennaro, Jr., Alanna LaRosa ; also several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother John Aresco; two sisters Lucia Mendola, Rosina Ponzio.
The funeral will be held on Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Coughlin - Lastrina Funeral Home, 491 High St., Middletown followed by a mass of Christian burial in St. Sebastian Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the family plot in St. Sebastian cemetery Middlefield. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5-7 p.m. Those who wish may make memorial donations to the Middlesex Hospice Unit c/o Development Office, 55 Crescent St., Middletown, CT, 06457. The family would like to thank the staff at Wadsworth Glen and Middlesex Hospital, especially the Hospice Unit for their acts of kindness. The family would like to thank our extended family and friends for their overwhelming support and love.

Dante, and family -
We are so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. We know you are feeling very sad, but remember all you did for her and we know she surely appreciated it. So have no regrets. She is is Heaven now and smiling down at you.
