PASTULA, Cynthia Rose (Schmalz)
Cynthia Rose (Schmalz) Pastula, 55, of the Broad Brook section of East Windsor, loving wife of James R. Pastula, died peacefully on Friday, (August 30, 2013). Cynthia was born in Hartford the daughter of Frederick and Martha (Knowlen) Schmalz of Broad Brook. She lived in East Windsor for more than 20 years and was employed at Victor Manufacturing of Hartford for 15 years. Cynthia was a member of the Rainbow Girls Warehouse Point Assembly #12 where she had served as Worthy Advisor. She was a member of Evening Star Chapter #63 Order of the Eastern Star where she had been Worthy Matron for three different years. Recently, Cynthia had been a member of Ionic Chapter #100 of Suffield. Cynthia was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. She enjoyed motor sports, (NHRA and NASCAR), reading, trips to Meredith, NH and company coming to her home. Cynthia is also survived by her son, Brian Pastula and his fiancée Melanie; and daughter Hailie of Canton, OH; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John and Rosemary Pastula of Ellington, Mark Pastula of Vernon and Charles Pastula and his fiancée, Laura Rossignol of Broad Brook; two nephews, John T. Pastula II and wife Amy and Brandon Pastula and a niece Elyse Rossignol.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 3, at 10 a.m. at the Wesley United Methodist Church, 55 North Main St., East Windsor. Burial will take place on Grove Hill Cemetery, Vernon. Visiting hours will be held on Monday afternoon, Sept. 2, from 1-4 p.m. at the Bassinger & Dowd Funeral Home, 37 Gardner St., East Windsor.
