ROMAN, Darby L. (Carson)
Darby "Dee" (Carson) Roman, 72, of Bristol, passed away on September 13, 2013 at Hartford Hospital. Born October 19, 1940 in Stafford Springs, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Marjory (Keniston) Carson. Darby spent 16 wonderful years married to the love of her life, Michael Roman, who preceded her in death on February 28, 2007. Darby leaves behind her daughter, Shanda MacMasters and her husband, Roz of Concord, NH; her son, Lance Prentiss and his wife, Lisa of Colchester, CT; her brother Kevin Carson and his wife, Marcy of East Windsor, CT; her sister Michelle Velasco and her husband, Ross of Atascadero, CA; her grandchildren, Crystal Prentiss, Tamara Gallagher, Samantha and Charlie Prentiss; and one great-grandchild, Lila Payne. Besides her parents and her husband, Darby was preceded in death by her brother, Joel Carson on July 25, 2013. The Carson and Velasco Family would like to offer a special note of thanks to the staff of Hartford Hospital and Kettle Brook Nursing Home for their care giving to Darby. They would also like to extend a special thanks to Leete-Stevens Funeral Home for their extraordinary help during these trying circumstances.
There will be no calling hours for Darby and a private inurnment of her cremains will take place at the convenience of her family. In lieu of flowers, the families respectfully ask that donations in Darby's name be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, CT Chapter, 2075 Silas Deane Highway, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
